  3. What is the age limit for the adult classes?

  4. What is your cancellation policy?

It is the buyer’s responsibility to give us a 30-day written notice that explains the member’s intention to cancel and reason of why they are canceling. This will be accepted in the form of a written email, hand-written letter or our cancellation form. You may also drop by our facility to fill one out. Phone-in cancellations are NOT accepted.

  5. How is your self-defense system different from others?

What separate’s our self-defense system from other martial art disciplines such as Judo, Tai Chi, Karate, etc. is that we emphasize realistic, everyday, fighting situations with defensive tactics. This real-life system begins by teaching the student the foundation of what to do when faced with an unexpected attacker. We prepare both the mind and body to handle high stress and dangerous situations. Defensive techniques include, gun and knife disarm, vulnerable parts on the body, chokes, striking, ground survival, and much more. Throughout the course we also include a multiple attacker stress test that prepares the student to handle surprise attackers.

  6. What should I wear for class?

We recommend wearing clothing that will allow you to move quickly and easily. Note: anything that restricts you from using full extension of your arms and legs (i.e. jeans) will not give you the full effect of your workout and could actually result in injury. Please wear cotton or moisture wicking-type fabrics that breathe. A simple cotton tee shirt and sweat pants work well. Also, please wear clean and comfortable shoes such as a cross training shoe. No cleat-like shoes allowed. Please ensure that your shoes have non-marking soles to help protect and keep our mats clean.

  7. Do you have a sparring class?

Our Stand-Up Fight class offers both a fundamentals and advanced class. With regular attendance of the fundamentals class and the consent of the instructor, you will be given the opportunity to spar with the other students in the advanced class. Sparring is only offered in the advanced class. You will be required to wear the appropriate gear to participate in class (please see “What equipment do I need for class”).
